Marking the Conclusion of My Tenure as President of Bangladesh Tarun Column Lekhok Forum, Dhaka University Unit
On August 29, 2020, at 5:00 PM, I conducted the final meeting of my tenure as the President of Bangladesh Tarun Column Lekhok Forum (BTCLF), Dhaka University Unit. This meeting symbolized the end of an incredible journey that began with the formation of this unit on July 23, 2018, where I had the honor of serving as the Founding President for two consecutive terms.
During the meeting, the newly elected President and Secretary took over their responsibilities, marking the beginning of a new chapter for BTCLF. I extend my heartfelt best wishes to them as they lead the unit forward with fresh ideas and aspirations.
My Journey as Founding President
The journey of forming, developing, and leading the BTCLF, Dhaka University Unit, has been nothing short of transformative, both for the organization and myself. Below are the highlights of my contributions and achievements:
Formation and Leadership
- Established the Bangladesh Tarun Column Lekhok Forum, Dhaka University Unit on July 23, 2018.
- Took on the role of Founding President, building the foundation for a thriving organization.
Organizational Development
- Expanded Membership: Grew the member base from 0 to 150, creating a vibrant community of young writers.
- Member Development: Encouraged and mentored members to enhance their writing skills and embrace the art of column writing, fostering a culture of creativity and expression.
Capacity-Building Initiatives
- Organized Workshops: Conducted multiple skill-building workshops to nurture budding writers and equip them with the tools to articulate their thoughts effectively.
- Regular Meetings: Instituted a system of regular meetings to ensure active member engagement and discuss ideas, projects, and challenges.
Project Planning and Management
- Strategic Leadership: Led the team in planning, organizing, and executing various projects, from workshops to writing competitions.
- Project Budgets: Designed and managed project budgets to ensure smooth execution and sustainability.
- Sponsorship Communications: Established connections with sponsors to secure resources for organizational growth and project implementation.
Team Building and Communication
- Built a unified and motivated team, fostering strong communication and collaboration among members.
- Established effective communication channels to maintain transparency and engagement with all members.
Reflection on My Legacy
Leading BTCLF, Dhaka University Unit, as its Founding President was a fulfilling and transformative experience. Through this role, I not only witnessed the growth of young writers but also honed my skills in leadership, project planning, community engagement, and team management.
The foundation we laid together has set the stage for greater achievements in the future. As I pass on the baton, I am filled with optimism for the new leadership and the journey ahead for BTCLF.
