About Me
The Short
Md. Jakaria, currently is working as a Monitoring Officer in USAID’s Fight Slavery and Trafficking-In-Persons (FSTIP) Activity project. But previously he was doing his intern as an administration & management professional with a focus on branding, maintaining, and running an institution /company with experience. His major interest in people oriented work. He loves to work for people and have an interest in project management and planning.
He was a philosophy graduate from the University of Dhaka which is also known as Oxford of the East. He completed few professional-level courses which excel his career.
His preferences are volunteer activities, networking, knowing other's traditions and cultures, and has passion on work for his community.
The Long
I was born in a great family's. The son of a Md. Magharul Islam and a Zakia Sultana. We lived in Keranigonj, to be somewhat closer to capital city. I started my education here.
Later join Notre Dame College for Higher Secondary, and then I attended the University of Dhaka, intent on studying International Relation or Public Administration or something Development Study. It took me basically forever to decide what I wanted to major in, but I finally settled on Philosophy, I continued to learn things though, but my passion for numbers goes back much further than that.
With more things happening in between, from my collage life, I was involve in extra - curricular activities. I was a President of Notre Dame English Club. Along with other, where I lead a 34 member team and organized a best and biggest event of my life called 2nd National English Carnival, where almost 2500 students were participated from whole country. I also involved with Notre Dame Jubo Red Crescent Club. Where I arranged a Blood Donation Camp. In this camp, we collected hight amount of blood ever. My best memory that Notre Dame Collage arrange a International Nature Summit and I served as a volunteer chair there.
I continued my journey in the field of extra-curricular activities in my university.
At first I joined Dhaka University Model United Nation Association (DUMUNA). There I worked for many conference and also attended as a participants. I achieved executive member level their.
Then I moved to Dhaka University Rover Scout Group (DURSG). It was the best place for me. I learned lot from their. Camping, Projects, Maintaining Discipline in various national and international programs, and achieved different stages. It's really wonderful. It's helps me to do more humanitarian activities, and closely monitor how it function.
Besides it, I with my senior and juniors organized a new organization. Aimed to make Youth as a writer, who really want to be. Basically, we start to encourage youth and motivated them how to write and how to published it to national English and Bangla newspaper. We helped them to edit it and published it. We connect almost every public university with us, and also lot's of private and collages too. The organization called Bangladesh Tarun Column Lekhok Forum (BTCLF).
I also worked in Rotary International. I served as a president in 2019-2020 Rotary Year. I achieved Rotary International Presidential Citation Award from Bangladesh. I did lots of projects and training. Focusing points were Community services, Professional Development Services, International Services, and Club Services. And next year I served as a District International Service Director. Where I worked with the different international communities and work in different join international projects, cultural exchanges, Rotary Youth Leadership Awards, etc projects.
I worked in different organizations during my graduation time for part-time activities. Data Entry, freelancing, digital marketing, field survey, customer services, management, event management, project coordinator, etc. in many roles.
