DOTS: THE PILLAR, a flagship training program for district officials, was successfully organized by Rotaract District Organization, RID 3281 for the leadership team of the Rotary Year 2020-21. This seminar was an incredible opportunity to prepare district officials for their roles while fostering leadership, teamwork, and strategic communication.
Key Highlights of the Program
1. Inspiring Speakers
The seminar featured experienced and inspiring speakers who shared their insights and experiences. One of the most notable among them was PDRR Ilmul Haque Sajib, Co-founder of Sheba.xyz. His engaging session motivated participants to think innovatively and develop leadership qualities.
2. My Role as Liaison Officer (LO)
I had the privilege of serving as a Liaison Officer (LO) for this prestigious program. In this role, I:
- Communicated with District Officials: Established effective communication with all district officials to ensure they were informed about the program.
- Managed Registrations: Collected and coordinated registrations for the event.
- Team Management: Worked with a dedicated team of 11 members, where we collaborated to ensure the smooth execution of the program.
This role allowed me to refine my teamwork, communication, and event management skills.
3. The District’s Scale
Rotaract District RID 3281 is the largest district globally, comprising 247 Rotaract clubs. Coordinating such a large and diverse group of leaders was both a challenge and an enriching experience.
My Leadership Contributions
Apart from my role as an LO, I am also serving as the District International Service Director in Rotaract District RID 3281. This position involves leading international collaborations, fostering cross-cultural exchange, and ensuring successful international service projects.
As a proud member of my home club, Rotaract Club of Rajdhani Dhaka, I continue to contribute to the district and international activities through leadership and service.
Reflections on the Experience
DOTS: THE PILLAR was a transformative program, combining learning, teamwork, and leadership development. My role as a Liaison Officer allowed me to enhance my ability to coordinate large-scale projects, improve interpersonal communication, and work collaboratively with a team of passionate individuals.
Being a part of RID 3281, with its extensive network and impactful initiatives, has been a rewarding journey, and I look forward to contributing further to the Rotary and Rotaract movement.
