On August 16, 2020, the Rotaract Club of Rajdhani Dhaka and Rotaract Club of Uttara Plus came together for a meaningful and impactful initiative to distribute food among street children at the TSC premises of Dhaka University. This event marked an extraordinary effort to provide a moment of relief and joy to underprivileged children while creating awareness about the importance of community service.

Purpose and Significance

The primary purpose of this initiative was twofold:

1. To address the immediate nutritional needs of street children.
2. To bring smiles to their faces through kind gestures, embodying the essence of the Rotaract spirit, “Service Above Self.”

Street children are among the most vulnerable in society, often deprived of basic necessities such as food, shelter, and education. This project was designed to temporarily alleviate one of these critical issues, fostering a sense of inclusion and hope for these children.

Activities and Execution

1. Pre-Event Planning:

   • The planning phase involved collaboration between the two clubs to ensure the smooth execution of the program.

   • Special emphasis was placed on ensuring that the process adhered to health and safety measures, especially considering the COVID-19 pandemic.

   • The event began at 4 PM at the iconic TSC premises of Dhaka University, an easily accessible location for the target group.
   • Volunteers from both clubs distributed food packets to the children. These food packets were prepared thoughtfully, keeping the nutritional needs of children in mind.
