Training of Trainers (ToT) on Livelihood Component and Victim Case Management System (VCMS)

Date: November 11–13, 2024
Venue: Chuti Resort, Gazipur, Bangladesh

I had the privilege of participating in an intensive Training of Trainers (ToT) program organized under the USAID FSTIP project. This three-day program focused on building practical knowledge and skills in two critical areas: the Livelihood Component and the Victim Case Management System (VCMS). The schedule included a combination of expert-led sessions, collaborative workshops, and hands-on training.

Key Sessions and Highlights:

Day 1: Introduction and Livelihood Component

  • Opening and Overview: Orientation on the objectives and goals of the training.
  • Understanding Livelihood Needs: Insights into assessing survivors' economic challenges and tailoring interventions accordingly.
  • Public Sector Engagement (PSE): Strategies to engage public sector actors for sustainable livelihood initiatives.
  • Interactive Workshops: Participants collaboratively designed tailored livelihood support plans, integrating case studies and success stories.

Day 2: Advanced Livelihood Strategies and Ethical Considerations

  • Ethical Approaches: Screening of the “Do No Harm” video and discussion on ethical service delivery.
  • Sustainable Interventions: Practical approaches to ensure long-term benefits for survivors through economic self-reliance.
  • Case Studies: Real-life examples highlighting best practices in livelihood programs.

Day 3: Victim Case Management System (VCMS)

  • Case Management Steps: Detailed guidance on managing cases in alignment with CSS guidelines.
  • Technology Integration: Training on using the FSTIP KOBO system for efficient data collection and reporting.
  • Survivor Reintegration: Frameworks for effective reintegration, follow-ups, and promoting self-reliance.
  • District Referral Services Directory: Compilation and utilization of referral directories to strengthen support networks.

This training significantly enhanced my expertise in delivering survivor-centered, sustainable services. The interactive sessions, coupled with real-world applications, provided actionable strategies for addressing the complex challenges faced by survivors of human trafficking.

I am deeply grateful to USAID, OKUP, and all organizing partners for this enriching opportunity to advance my skills and contribute more effectively to survivor support and rehabilitation.
