Challenges & Achievements
Taking on the responsibility of delivering a solo session to an audience of aspiring writers and journalism enthusiasts was both a test of my expertise and an opportunity to refine my skills as a mentor and public speaker.
- The session was interactive, with engaging discussions and thought-provoking questions from participants.
- I shared personal experiences as a writer, including my journey in opinion writing, editorial contributions, and content development.
- Participants found the session insightful, and many expressed their interest in pursuing regular writing and contributing to newspapers.
Key Takeaways from the Event
- Mentorship Matters: Many emerging writers struggle with self-doubt and lack of guidance. Providing structured mentorship helps them navigate the writing landscape with confidence.
- Content Strategy is Crucial: Understanding the reader's perspective is as important as mastering writing techniques. Writers must develop a content strategy that aligns with audience interests and editorial standards.
- Persistence is Key: Writing is a process that involves continuous learning and refinement. Aspiring writers must remain persistent in improving their craft and engaging with publications.
Final Thoughts
This workshop was a defining moment in my journey as a mentor, public speaker, and advocate for young writers. Being entrusted with the responsibility of guiding new writers reinforced my belief in the power of storytelling and the impact of well-articulated ideas in shaping public opinion.
I extend my gratitude to Bangladesh Tarun Column Lekhok Forum for organizing this insightful event and for providing a platform where writers can learn, grow, and contribute to the world of journalism.
